Calling on ancient wisdom teachings and principles, Author Lauretta Hannon will give reflective writing prompts aimed to illuminate, edify, and give rise to the voice of your spirit.
Based on the premise that writing is inherently spiritual, she will playfully guide you through lively lecture and discussion; an hour of prompts; and the sharing of your on-site writing (as much as time allows).
To bolster your ongoing practice, participants will leave with Lauretta's Soul Words Writing Workbook. Signed copies of her new spiritual memoir, A Priest Walks Into a Waffle House: Stories From a Gritty, Grace-Filled Life, will be available for purchase.
AFTER CLASS…there is so much to savor at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit.
Join the monks in Mid-Day Prayer at 12:15pm. Stroll the grounds. Explore the Monastic Heritage Center (free admission) with its museum, visitor center, and historic barn that housed the first monks.Visit the fabulous Abbey Gift Shop for monk-made biscotti and other goodies, and browse the largest bookstore of its kind in the Southeast.

Phones and screens must be kept off during class. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil, as writing will be done by hand.
Class size will be capped at 50.
Food is not permitted in the classroom. You’re welcome to pack a lunch to enjoy on the grounds, or you can grab a light snack at the gift shop.
